Dark River Project takes old school dance thinking and mixes it with fresh sounding beats that take the listener on a journey through these collective soundscapes.
Started back in November 2002, Dark River Project is the brainchild of James Storton, guitarist and self-confessed music junkie. Having been in and out of bands for the last ten years, playing everything from Simon & Garfunkel covers to raging heavy metal, James decided to start experimenting with sequencers and samplers. Influenced by the likes of Leftfield, Orbital, Roni Size & Represents, DJ Shadow, The Orb, Depth Charge and the Chemical Brothers. He started creating the tunes that would eventually make up his debut release “Cerebral Flow”. After more experimentation with his new studio set up, James started work on his second release "New Toys" This new cd would show a more chilled out old school approach to song writing and production.
New tracks are being written all the time so keep your eye on the site for future updates. If you like this stuff, e-mail enquiries@darkriverproject.co.uk and let us know.
